The Radius Shawl came about as a consequence of breaking my wrist and having an enforced break (pardon the pun) from my passion, which is dyeing! The first 2 weeks were the most difficult, as I wasn’t even able to knit.

Once I was out of the permanent cast and into a splint, my hand therapist said that knitting was a great way to get my hand moving. I needed no further encouragement. I found that garter knitting was the easiest to do, so I decided to make this simple design.

Starting with garter rows, then moving on to left and right hand slanting lattice sections for interest, and some garter striping to introduce the second colour, then finishing with a picot edge.
